01/06/16 The San Luis Valley Tourism Association Announces 2nd Annual Photo Contest The San Luis Valley Tourism Association invites all amateur photographers to enter the annual photo contest and win up to $150. Submissions should be in one of 3 categories, Cultural, Natural, or Recreational and must be taken within the San Luis Valley and not have been submitted in previous contests. The same photo cannot be submitted in more than one category, and the content of photos will be judged based on the category submitted. The winner in each category will receive $50 and the overall best photo will be awarded an additional $100 prize. By submitting photos the photographer gives permission to the San Luis Valley Tourism Association for use in promotions of the San Luis Valley as a tourism destination on website, social media, and other media. Deadline for submissions is February 15, 2016. Please submit photos through Dropbox.com to email@example.com. Photos should be at least 300 resolution and should include photographer’s name, location of photo, and contact information for the photographer.

11/19/15 The San Luis Valley Tourism Association has been awarded a $25,000 matching marketing grant from the Colorado Tourism Office! With the grant funds and matching funds we will reprint the San Luis Valley map and brochure and have it distributed by Certified Folder throughout Colorado and northern Arizona. We will also be placing “Keep it Cool” print ads in the Official State Visitors Guide, Discover Taos summer guide, Seasons Magazine, Huerfano Fast Facts Guide, Summer on the Rio, and the Southwest CO Tour Guide. Many of these print ads include online listings, we will also have an online listing on colorado.com as well as banner ads on colorado.com, and will be expanding our social media advertising. We are hoping to secure a billboard on I-25.
